Overview
A clean and healthy environment is essential for community well-being, yet many underserved areas continue to struggle with poor sanitation, limited access to clean water, and a lack of awareness around hygiene practices. Omsamarthan Foundation addresses these challenges through awareness programmes, cleanliness drives, and practical infrastructure support designed to improve daily living conditions.
Our work includes sanitation and cleanliness campaigns aligned with public welfare initiatives such as Swachh Bharat, where we encourage communities to take active responsibility for maintaining cleaner public spaces. We conduct hygiene awareness sessions that educate families on sanitation practices, personal hygiene, and preventive health measures to reduce health risks and improve overall well-being.
Recognising the importance of access to safe drinking water, we support the installation and maintenance of clean water reservoirs in underserved communities where reliable water sources are unavailable. Alongside this, we organise community road and neighbourhood clean-up drives to improve local surroundings and strengthen civic responsibility. To support sustainable and safer living, we also facilitate the distribution of solar lights in areas with limited electricity access.
Benefits
Environmental progress begins with awareness and is strengthened through collective participation. Hygiene and sanitation education helps reduce disease risks, encourages healthier daily habits, and promotes long-term behavioural change within communities. Cleanliness drives contribute to safer public spaces while fostering a stronger sense of ownership and responsibility among residents.
Access to clean water directly improves health, hygiene, and quality of life, addressing one of the most urgent needs in underserved communities. Solar lighting support helps improve safety, reduces dependency on unreliable energy sources, and promotes environmentally sustainable living. Together, these initiatives create healthier environments, stronger communities, and measurable social impact.
